FlowCut vs OpusClip and Submagic
People put these three in the same sentence because they all promise a faster edit. They are not the same kind of thing, and picking by price is how you end up paying for the wrong one.
The actual difference
OpusClip and Submagic edit for you. You give them a long video, they decide which parts are worth keeping, cut them into shorts, put captions on top, reframe to vertical and hand back finished files. The work happens on their servers, in a browser, on whatever computer you have.
FlowCut edits with you. It is a panel inside Premiere Pro. It does the parts that are boring and mechanical: cutting the silence, writing the captions, keeping your LUTs and overlays to hand. It leaves every decision about what the video is on your timeline, where you can see it.
Which of those you want is not a matter of budget. It is whether the edit is the product or the chore.

The yearly line is the one worth sitting with. A subscription is not expensive in any given month, which is exactly why it does not feel like anything until you add up the year.
Where they are better than us, honestly
- They choose the moments. Feed OpusClip an hour of podcast and it will find the ten bits that might travel, and score them. FlowCut has no opinion about which part of your video is good. It never will. That is not what it is for.
- They work anywhere. A browser on any machine, Mac included. FlowCut needs Windows and a copy of Premiere Pro.
- They publish. Captions, reframing, scheduling and posting in one place. If you do not own an editor and do not want to, that is the whole job done.
- Nothing to install. No download, and no security warning from Windows the first time you open it.
Where we are better
- It is your edit. Every cut lands on your timeline and every one of them can be undone, nudged or ignored. Nothing arrives finished and unarguable.
- No meter. No minutes, no credits expiring at the end of the month, no cap on how long a video may be. A three-hour recording costs the same as a thirty-second one: nothing.
- Nothing is uploaded. The transcription and the cutting happen on your machine. For client work under an NDA, that is not a preference, it is the requirement.
- You pay once. In month four it is still working and you have not paid again.

Plenty of people end up using both, and there is nothing odd about that. One makes videos. The other makes you faster at making them.
